Joy Prom brings smiles to faces of special needs children

Smiles were bright as foundation was applied to the faces of young ladies and ties were tied neatly around the necks of young men Saturday as nearly 200 volunteers aimed to make the 2nd Annual Joy Prom a night to remember.

Prom is experienced by many during their teen years, but these young individuals who gathered at Beach Church were special needs children, accompanied by their parents.

“You see faces that are smiling and years worth of stress in families who have gone through a whole lifetime of medical stuff,” said Dave Moen, prom coordinator. “Tonight is not medical. Tonight is about individuals.”
