Sierra Club
The Sierra Club was established in 1892, easily making it the oldest environmental organization. With over 1.3 million members, it is also the largest and most influential. The mission of the Sierra Club is simple, "explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the earth." They accomplish this in part by supporting organizations that focus on promoting reponsible use of earth's resources or educate the public on the environment. The deadline for applications is June 1.
