Nonprofit Spotlight




The Upward Bound Program at the College of Charleston provides services to at risk students in their endeavor to become the first college graduates in their families. The Upward Bound Project started in 1964 with 18 pilot programs funded by the Economic Opportunity Act and has now increased to over 700 programs nationwide. The program is open to college bound high school student attending one ofthe targeted high schools in the Tri County area. Through this program parents and staff work together to prepare the student for college and a successful academic career.
