ASCEND’s Imagine Gala to Benefit Chemo Duck
The ASCEND Foundation, a locally-based nonprofit organization will host their annual Imagine Gala on April 3, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. The celebration will take place at 28 Bridgeside in Mount Pleasant. The event’s theme is “Imagine a World without Cancer” and will honor local cancer survivors and feature live music, a silent auction and a fresh juice bar donated by The Sprout in Mount Pleasant. Tickets are $125 per person or $1200 for a table of 10 and can be purchased by calling (843) 225-4055. All proceeds will benefit Gabe's Chemo Duck, a program of the ASCEND Foundation.
Chemo Duck is an innovative and unique program that provides optimum communication and education for children who have cancer through play therapy. The mission of the ASCEND Foundation is to provide a Chemo Duck to every child diagnosed with cancer and empower parents and family members to raise their voice and let our country's leadership know the time has come to eradicate cancer.

ASCEND, which stands for Anne Scandalios Cancer Ends Now Directive, was formed in 2001 as the result of Anne Scandalios’ battle against breast cancer. Although Anne lost her battle with cancer, the ASCEND Foundation through Anne’s spirit continues her mission to make ending cancer a national priority. ASCEND focuses its efforts on connecting those touched by cancer and empowering them to make a difference by speaking up against cancer.
