Nonprofits enter class to create for-profits

Eight Colorado nonprofit organizations are participating in the Colorado Nonprofit Social Enterprise Exchange’s inaugural two-year class designed to teach them how to create, develop and launch new ventures.
The idea is for nonprofits to add a for-profit line of business, and use the profits to fund their charitable activities.
“They already have the mission for their nonprofit,” says Caryn Capriccioso, co-founder and principal partner with Denver-based interSector Partners L3C, a project partner along with JVoyles Nonprofit Consulting.
