Nonprofit Spotlight

Established in 1999, Charleston Community Sailing focuses on high school sailors ages 16 and up. Their mission is to improve the community and the sport of sailing by providing access, facilities, and sailing instruction to people of all socioeconomic backgrounds, skill levels, and physical abilities. They achieve this through a number of programs such as the Buddy Sail program which pairs high school volunteers with members of the Boys and Girls Club for an afternoon of sailing, a Special Olympics sail team, high schools sailing teams and summer sailing programs.
