Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation

The Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation is an independent foundation that was created in 1952 in order to further the philanthropic interests of Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley. This foundation is unique in that it gives primarily in Chicago and the South Carolina Lowcountry. Primary areas of interest include conservation and environment, education, arts and culture, and short term food and shelter programs. Several organizations in Charleston have received funding from this foundation including Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Drayton Hall, South Carolina Coastal Conservation League and Water Missions International.
