The Sisters of Charity Foundation is partnering with the S.C. Association of Nonprofit Organizations to design a comprehensive, statewide learning and development program focused on excellence in nonprofit practice.

The new, grant-funded program will provide opportunities that build on the foundation’s Carolina Academy program that trained more than 1,500 nonprofits leaders and practitioners over the past nine years. SCANPO is expected to announce the program schedule in the coming weeks.

Charleston Trees, a committee of the Charleston Parks Conservancy, is hosting its annual oyster roast fundraiser from 1-4 p.m. Jan. 29 at Lowndes Grove Plantation in downtown Charleston. Tickets are $45 each and include oysters, chili, beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages plus live music.

The Glass Onion’s January charity tasting will benefit the cycling nonprofit Charleston Moves. It is set for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Jan. 11, and tastings will include local whiskeys, such as High Wire Distilling’s straight bourbon whiskey and Virgil Kaine’s ginger-infused bourbon, and small bites for $10 per person.

The ninth annual Chase After a Cure Gala is scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Gaillard Center in downtown Charleston. Tickets are $125 each and include hors d’oeuvres from Hamby Catering, auctions and live entertainment including Quiana Parler.

Proceeds will benefit Chase After a Cure and its mission to support pediatric cancer research at the Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital.
