2013 Donations Rise 4.9 Percent in U.S.

Charitable giving in the United States increased 4.9 percent in 2013 compared with 2012, and online giving rose even more, 13.5 percent compared with the previous year. That’s according to Blackbaud, a software provider for the nonprofit sector.

Online giving comprised 6.4 percent of all charitable giving last year, said Blackbaud, based in Charleston, South Carolina.
