Coastal Community Foundation
The CAGP was privileged to have Richard Hendry, Vice President of Programs for CCF, speak at their anniversary meeting on December 9. I thought I would use that as an opportunity to once again spotlight Coastal Communty Foundation.
The Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina began in 1974 with just $9000 donated by the Rotary Club of Charleston and a mission of fostering philanthropy for the lasting good of the community. Today they manage over 148 millions dollars in over 470 individual funds. These funds serve tousands of people in the eight coastal counties of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Georgetown, Hampton and Jasper. Their fields of interests include education, conservation/preservation, environment, neighborhood/community development, and basic human needs. Over the last 34 years they have awarded more than $75 million in grants.
