Historic Preservation Grants: Deadline Extended to February 11

The deadline to apply for a 2011 federal historic preservation grant has been extended to Friday, February 11, 2011. Eligible projects must be located in one of South Carolina’s 31 Certified Local Governments -- see list at http://shpo.sc.gov/programs/localgovt/certified.htm.

STOP Hunger Scholarships (Deadline: February 18)
The Sodexo Foundation seeks applicants for the STOP Hunger Scholarships to recognize students in the fight against hunger in America. More than 49 million people are at risk of hunger, including nearly 17 million children. The Sodexo Foundation works to ensure that every child in the U.S., especially those most at risk, grows up with dependable access to enough nutritious food to enable them to lead a healthy, productive life. The STOP Hunger Scholarships recognize and reward students who have made a significant impact in the fight against hunger in the United States.

OVW Fiscal Year 2011 Legal Assistance for Victims Grant Program (Deadline Feb 23, 2011)
The Legal Assistance for Victims (LAV) Grant Program is intended to increase the availability of civil and criminal legal assistance needed to effectively aid adult and youth victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking who are seeking relief in legal matters arising as a consequence of that abuse or violence. Criminal legal assistance is limited to criminal matters relating to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.

Open Meadows Foundation (Deadline Feb 15, 2011)
The foundation offers grants for projects that are designed and implemented by women and girls; reflect the diversity of the community served by the project in both its leadership and organization; promote building community power; promote gender, racial, social, economic, and/or environmental justice; and have limited financial access or have encountered obstacles in their search for funding.
