The ARK – Resource Development Coordinator- Part-time (10 – 15 hours/week)

Position Overview

Under general supervision of the Executive Director, the Resource Development Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring communications, public relations and fundraising efforts in coordination with the Project Director. The goal of the Resource Development Coordinator is to increase funding from various constituencies, raise awareness, and assist in building relationships in the community. Position will be based in Summerville, South Carolina.

Desired Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or at least 3 - 5 years of proven experience in a not-for-profit organization coordinating or managing fundraising, communications and/or public relations
- Demonstrated ability to generate funds through development campaigns
- Coordinate and lead major fundraising events including annual golf tournament, 5k Race and other potential events
- Assist in development of potential volunteers and interns to support programs and special events
- Capability to deal with individuals from various backgrounds including clients and personnel
- Demonstrated ability to quickly establish and maintain effective rapport in community networks
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communications skills
- Proficiency in desktop publishing and Windows professional software
- Proven ability to work as part of a team in shared office space and with little administrative support
- Empathetic to the special values and challenges of Alzheimer’s families
- Build and maintain relationships with resource sources (i.e. grant partners, donors, foundations, volunteers, staff, community partners, governments, business, etc.)
- Keep revenue resources informed of the agency’s efforts and successes.

Compensation

Compensation consists of a base salary, which is dependent upon level of experience

The ARK (Adult Respite Kare) has been assisting South Carolina families living with Alzheimer’s Disease and other memory disorders since 1996. Based in Summerville, South Carolina, programs are centered on the concept that people with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD) have a right to continue to participate in the life of the community, and can enjoy a vibrant quality of life in spite of the obstacles of memory loss.
