Position Description for Program Coordinator
Purpose: This position is the lead staff and assists the director in running the day to day operations and communications of the Charleston Academy of Music.
Primary Function: Program Coordinator will be responsible for the organization’s financial well-being through a combination of duties as they relate to billing and collecting revenues from parents and others. Coordinator should be organized; with a clear communication skills. Keeping up with studio scheduling and managing events are daily priority.
Desired Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or at least 2-3 years of proven experience in a not-for-profit organization coordinating or managing fundraising, communications and/or public relations
- Assist in development of potential volunteers and interns to support programs and special events
- Capability to deal with individuals from various backgrounds including students’ parents and personnel
- Demonstrated ability to quickly establish and maintain effective understanding in community networks
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communications skills
- Proficiency in desktop publishing and Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to work as part of a team in shared office space and with little administrative support
Hours are 30 to 35 hours a week. It's 10:30 - 5 during the week and some weekend and evening events.
