CAGP Meeting Tuesday Nov 17

The Charleston Association of Grant Professionals will meet
Tuesday, Nov. 17th at the Charleston County Public Library (5:45 – 7:30)

Speaker: John Sands, Director, Lowcountry Program, the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation (http://www.gddf.org/pwhere.html)
This foundation focuses its work in two geographic areas—the 13-county Chicago Region and the 9-county Lowcountry of South Carolina which includes:

Beaufort County, Berkeley County, Charleston County, Colleton County, Dorchester County, Georgetown County, Hampton County, Horry County, Jasper County

Areas of interest: Arts and the environment.
(Even if these focus areas are not the same as those of your organization, it will still be a useful program for you to attend. You can always learn something new from a foundation director that will help you in writing other proposals.)

Location: The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist Church Hall - 120 Broad Street, Charleston. Parking not provided. (Two parking garages are within easy walking distance: the Queen Street Garage and the Municipal Parking Garage at the corner of King and Queen.)

Fall Oyster Roast/ "Pearls of Wisdom" Silent Auction

It's an afternoon of fun, food and shopping to benefit the Outreach Learning Center at St. Matthew's.
Sunday November 22, 3-6 PM Elks Lodge 1113 Sam Rittenberg.
Featuring "Wood and Steel" a bluegrass, folk band. Menu includes Oysters (by Mt. Pleasant Seafood), Fish Stew, Hot Dogs, Cole slaw, Dessert. BYOB.
Great Christmas gifts will be available in the Silent Auction.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 the day of and $10 for kids under 12.

CAGP First Annual Funders’ Fair

The Charleston Association of Grant Professionals will host a Funders' Fair on Friday, Nov. 13th from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. This will be an opportunity for nonprofit professionals to network and meet with grant funders offering support in a variety of areas.

Format:

  • 9:00 – 10:00 - Networking Brunch/Registration/Welcome
  • 10:00 – 12:00 - Roundtable Discussions with Funders
  • 12:00 – 12:30 - Question and Answer Session

Funding agencies/foundations in attendance:
The Sisters of Charity Foundation of SC
The City of Charleston
The Lowcountry Housing Trust
The North Charleston Cultural Arts Department
The Coastal Community Foundation
The SC Arts Commission
The Exchange Club of Charleston
